A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. BOBBY J. GAINES UPON HIS RETIREMENT.

WHEREAS, Mr. Bobby J. Gaines, a resident of Pascagoula, Mississippi, is a retired agency manager for State Farm Insurance Company with 37 years of experience; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from high school, Mr. Gaines furthered his education at the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor's degree in education; and

WHEREAS, in 1996, Mr. Gaines was appointed to serve as one of the first board members for the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition, MPACT, program and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board; and

WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Mr. Gaines participates in organizations including the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, the Pascagoula Rotary Club, the First Methodist Church in Pascagoula and served on the Pascagoula Election Commission; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gaines has been supported in all his endeavors by his lovely wife, Lucy Dunn, and their children, Robert, Phillip and Bradley; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and pay special tribute to such outstanding Mississippians as Mr. Bobby J. Gaines, whose career and community involvement have served the people of the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Mr. Bobby J. Gaines upon his retirement and express our appreciation for his service as Chairman of the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition program.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Bobby J. Gaines and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
